Orthotic Knee Joint 

The Stance Control Orthotic Knee Joint is designed for patients with weak or absent quadriceps and varying degrees of knee insablility.  This Stance Control Knee Joint is a lightweight orthosis that allows patients to regain their mobility and assist them in a more energy effcient ambulation.

The Stance Control Knee Joint is an innovative design creates a more natural gait cycle by locking during stance phase and unlocking during swing phase. The automatic lock is initiated by knee extension, and is only released to swing freely when a knee extension moment and dorsiflexion occur simultaneously in terminal stance. The result is a more secure, efficient gait that also reduces the incidence of typical gait compensations.  Teamwork between Dale Hatton, Zane Walace, and Gary Horton's vision and willingness to fund the dream largely out of their own pocket has brought space technology to earth for the benefit of countless rehabilitation patients.

The Stance Control Knee Joint prevents knee collapse regardless of flexion, it is manufactured using lightweight materials that are highly durable.  The knee joint is equip with an automatic lock at the heel strike, free motion during the swing phase, and provides three different operating modes.
